Interior Focus: Furniture Collections

Tuesday, March 26, 2019

Providing furniture to cruise lines can present some interesting challenges, as suppliers must account for unpredictable movement, harsh weather conditions, space limitations, and weight restrictions when creating furniture for the marine market. Cruise lines and interior outfitters may be more likely to opt for lightweight materials, but that doesn’t mean the quality has to suffer. At Cruise Ship Interiors Expo, furniture suppliers from around the globe will be presenting their latest innovations, but why not take a sneak peek and find out what to expect ahead of the event this June? Featuring the latest collections from Arconas, Shores Global, and TableTopics, we present this month’s Interior Focus: Furniture Collections.

Arconas

Specializing in high-performance furniture for transportation terminals, Arconas has developed a large portfolio of unique pieces throughout its time in the industry. Known for creating sculpture-like seating, Arconas’ latest launch doesn’t disappoint. The Nova C Series (pictured) offers a sculpted wood seating line, allowing the client flexibility and freedom of design through modularity. Encompassing body-conscious contours, the Nova C Series ensures comfort, while making efficient use of space.

Robos Contract Furniture

Family-owned furniture company since 1979, Robos Contract Furniture is an expert in the production of custom-made furniture. Its latest collection, Dutch Teak is a synthetic version of teak and is fully sea-proof and highly durable. It consists of composite material and is 100% recyclable. Dutch Teak mimics the look of real teak while requiring minimal maintenance. Robos's Dutch Teak collection is available in various color palettes, all of which will fade over time, just like authentic teak. The collection is currently being used onboard Royal Caribbean Cruises' Oasis Class ships, Dream Cruises' Dream Class, and Norwegian Cruise Line's Breakaway Plus Class.

Shores Global

Over the past 10 years alone, Shores Global has provided more than 200 vessels with cruise-quality furniture. Its clients have included Costa Cruises, Aida Cruises, and Crystal Cruises. More recently, Shores has shifted its focus indoors to loose-furniture, providing chairs, sofas, tables, and more. Additionally, Shores is able to create customizable pieces for its clients. Most recently, Shores has been working on creating fully customizable options and currently boasts an impressive library of vinyl, velvets, plain, and patterned fabrics in near-infinite colorways.

TableTopics

Custom table providers to the hospitality industry for approaching 40 years, TableTopics’ clients span some of the world’s major cruise lines. Its Acralyte-finish has been a must-have product for its clients and TableTopics is now launching the next phase of the product, AcralyteX. AcralyteX is a proprietary finish that prolongs and maintains a table’s aesthetic appeal, with increased scratch, heat, and chemical resistance. The expert team at TableTopics will then provide clients with their desired finish and look.

Tirolo

Italy-based furniture supplier Tirolo prides itself on creating and supplying a unique blend of ready-to-ship upholstered contract furniture and made-to-order custom products. Tirolo’s team are experts in the departments of carpentry, painting, and upholstery, allowing them to create the perfect product for each client. The latest launch from Tirolo comes in the form of Gill (pictured), a vibrant armchair, ideal for any setting.

Vondom

Relative newcomers to the cruise industry, Vondom isn’t shy of experience in the hospitality market, having supplied to numerous hotels all over the world, as well as the odd luxury yacht. Creating luxury lifestyle moments through furniture, Vondom creates statement pieces for dynamic people. Its latest launch, the Voxel chair, has made waves in the industry, winning Vondom an award at 2018’s Good Design Awards.
